pastor's update

"Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood."

Acts 20:28

weekly message

“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting…All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit…” (Acts 2:1-2,4a)

The prophet Joel wrote that God would “pour out my Spirit on all people”(Joel 2:28). Jesus told His disciples, “I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high” (Luke 24:49) After Jesus had ascended into Heaven, the Holy Spirit came to give us that “power from on high”. God knows that we are unable to do His work on our own – that we would need the Holy Spirit to guide us, lead us and empower us. Once we receive Jesus into our hearts, we have access to this power, so that we can be God’s church and show others the love of Jesus. Let’s continue to pray for God’s power to be seen and heard through us to our co-workers; friends; neighbors and our community.

Acts 2:1-12 "Remembering Pentecost"

Word of Encouragement

We are all ill-taught if we look for results only in the earthlies when we pray. A praying saint performs far more havoc among the unseen forces of darkness than we have the slightest notion of. Oswald Chambers
