"For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
We were created to live in fellowship with God but sin has created a separation between us and Him. No matter how "good" we think we are none of us is without sin. Since the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden we have been rebelling against God by living lives contrary to His desire for us.
"For the wages of sin is death."
Romans 6:23
So what is the cost of that sin in our lives? The Bible tells us that the penalty for that "rebellion" against God is death. Sin cannot exist in the presence of a Holy God. The price needs to be paid for the sins we all have committed.
"but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:9
God loves you so much that He chose to pay the penalty for your sin by sending His Son Jesus to come to this earth in the form of an innocent and helpless child, live a sinless life, and ultimately pay the price for our sin by giving up His life for ours on the cross. He paid the price we could not pay to provide the gift we could never earn.
So what do we to do to receive this gift of salvation? We need to recognize our need for a Savior, confess our sins to Him, repent or "turn from" our sins and accept His gift of salvation in Jesus.
"If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." - Romans 10:9
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13
The final step in finding salvation in Jesus is to proclaim Him as your Lord and savior.
Essentially this means to give Him authority over your life and let Him have control. This does not mean that your life will be without problems. In fact challenges are a part of life and always will be. With Jesus in control you can be at peace in every situation because He is in control.
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5:1
When Jesus is invited to take the reins of your life, you will experience the peace that passes all understanding that only He can provide. In Him you will receive not only the gift of eternal life with Him in Heaven but also the confidence and peace that come from knowing that He now has your life in His hands. You are now secure in Him for all eternity. He will give you a new life and you will be "born again." as he told Nicodemus in John 3:7
"And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation." Mark 16:15
Once you have received this free gift of salvation found in Jesus you will want to share that great news with others as a profession of your new-found faith.
We would love to hear from you. Please share below so we can be praying for you in your new faith journey
