"Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood."

Acts 20:28

weekly message

“When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.”  (Acts 3:9-10)

The crippled man sitting at the gate begged Peter for money, but Peter gave him so much more. Peter, through the power of the Holy Spirit and using the power in the name of Jesus, gave this man the ability to walk, something this man never had done. Sometimes when we ask God for help or to provide something for us, He will give us more than we even asked for! This is how God works sometimes. And when this crippled man got up, as he walked (I’m thinking he probably danced a bit, too) he praised God, recognizing where the healing came from. Let’s be reminded that God is still in the “miracle business” and can do amazing things through His Holy Spirit and the powerful name of JESUS!

Word of Encouragement

Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. – Psalm 62:5-6
